Born in New Zealand, Angel has just launched its first Australian hub in Melbourne. We’re looking for an Operations Manager to lead our people and build the daily operation with that same care.

You’ll work alongside your team, set clear expectations and have honest conversations with kindness. You’ll hold high standards and stay steady when things get complicated.

And they will. This is a start-up environment. Processes are taking shape, priorities will shift and decisions won’t always come with a complete picture. You’ll bring energy and a sense of urgency, helping your team work efficiently and keep momentum through a busy day.

You’ll need to think quickly, make sound calls and know when to act or seek support. When something doesn’t work, you learn, adjust and move forward. You take ownership of getting things sorted and follow through until they are.

Care lives in the details

You’ll own the daily rhythm of the Melbourne hub:

• Leading, coaching and developing the team.

• Managing rosters, production and workflow so work moves efficiently and orders leave on time.

• Keeping across stock, SKUs and supplier relationships.

• Ensuring every order meets Angel’s standards and is ready for dispatch.

• Upholding food safety and workplace safety standards.

• Building practical processes, removing bottlenecks and following issues through to resolution.

• Identifying and escalating risks when needed.

One moment you’ll be supporting a team member; the next, resolving a stock issue or reshaping tomorrows workload. You’ll keep an eye on what’s slowing the team down and find ways to make the work run better, without losing the care each delivery deserves.

Your background might surprise us

You could come from operations, project management, law, accounting or somewhere else entirely. What matters is your ability to lead people well, organise complex work and follow through.

You’ll bring commercial judgement, confidence with systems and numbers, and the curiosity to learn Angel from the ground up. You want to understand how everything works, ask another question and check the detail. When something needs attention, you take responsibility and stay with it until it’s right.

Experience helping a business grow or an operation scale would be valuable, though it isn’t essential. We’re interested in how you’d build the team, habits and ways of working that help Angel grow while keeping its care and standards intact.

The role is based in Melbourne. We welcome applicants already in Australia and those in New Zealand considering a move.
